What should I wear and bring?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move easily. Athletic wear is ideal. If you’re coming in for a specific issue, like a knee or shoulder injury, wear something that allows easy access to the affected area.
Please bring (if you have not already provided it in the intake forms):
- Your Driver’s License
- Insurance information
- A referral (if you have one).
- X-rays or MRIs
How can I prepare for my appointment?
Before your appointment, please complete the Intake forms that we emailed to you.
How long will each physical therapy session last?
Most physical therapy sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes. However, the exact length of your session may vary depending on your specific treatment plan and progress.
Can I do anything between appointments to speed up my recovery?
Absolutely! After your session, your therapist will provide you with a Home Exercise Program (HEP) with specific exercises to do at home. These exercises are tailored to your condition and are crucial for maintaining progress between sessions. Following these recommendations diligently can enhance your recovery.
What should I do if I have questions after my session?
If you have any questions or concerns after your session, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. You can call or text us at (530)-208-9910, or email our office at admin@ptrevolution.com, and your therapist will be happy to assist you. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Will my insurance cover physical therapy?
Insurance coverage for physical therapy varies depending on your plan. See below for insurance we take. As a complimentary service, we verify your coverage before your first appointment but we recommend contacting your insurance provider to better understand your benefits.
How often should I come in for PT?
The frequency of your sessions will depend on your specific condition and treatment plan. Typically, patients start with 2-3 sessions per week, which may decrease as you progress. Your therapist will work with you to determine the best schedule for your recovery.
When will I start to see improvement?
Many patients start to notice improvements after just a few sessions, but the timeline can vary based on the severity of your condition and your adherence to the treatment plan. Your therapist will provide a more personalized expectation during your sessions.
How do I know when my physical therapy is complete?
You’ll know you’re done with physical therapy when you’ve met the goals established at the beginning of your treatment… aka… back to sending it! This usually includes the resolution of pain, restored mobility, and the ability to perform daily activities or sports without discomfort. Your therapist will guide you through this process and make recommendations for any ongoing exercises to maintain your progress.
